LAVAL VIRTUAL entrusted to Diota, as the leader of software solutions 4.0 for industry, the implementation of the INDUSTRIAL AREA, a showcase of more than 50m2 dedicated to the real uses of INDUSTRY 4.0 solutions by major industrial players . Back on 5 use cases presented.

CASE N ° 1 | DASSAULT AVIATION: ASSISTANCE TO ASSEMBLY

Operators adhere to this solution because it provides them with effective help to avoid mistakes and perform tasks to the best of their know-how.

Dassault Aviation

On a Dassault Aviation bunker roof, Laval Virtual visitors were able to discover how Augmented Reality as proposed by Diota allows the aeronautical manufacturer's industrial operators to work more efficiently on the assembly of sub-systems of aero-structure.

THE CASE : the operators are guided step by step by work instructions and contextual information projected directly, via the projection system ISAR 3, on the subsystem to be assembled. They visualize the right information at the right time in the right place.

THE ADVANTAGES

  • Operators keeping their hands free to carry out their tasks
  • Instruction Sheets from the Dassault Systèmes PLM
  • Ergonomic and intuitive interactions
  • Automated reporting (comments, screenshots, etc.)

THE RESULTS

  • Quality gain: operators easily identify the tasks to carry out, their location and required tool settings, and avoid errors.
  • Productivity gain: the tasks without added value (marking ...) are removed
  • Ergonomics: operators refocus on their know-how

CASE N ° 2 | DASSAULT AVIATION: SELF-VERIFICATION OF CONFORMITY IN PRODUCTION

This solution brings a real plus in the verification of the conformity of the manufactured product compared to its numerical definition. It makes it possible to automate control operations and capitalize on feedback from the field.

Dassault Aviation

On a piece of aerostructure was also presented a use case with Diota Augmented Reality tools for the self-checking by the operators of the conformity of the manufacturing tasks carried out.

THE CASE : equipped with tablets or the DiotaWand, the operators independently verify the conformity of the assembly tasks they carry out, compared to the digital model.

THE ADVANTAGES

  • Automatic detection of nonconformities (type, absence / presence ...)
  • Solution integrated with the Dassault Systèmes PLM
  • Automated reporting (comments, screenshots, etc.)

THE RESULTS

  • Productivity gain: anomalies are detected earlier in the process.
  • Quality gain: anomalies are characterized by operators in a standardized way
  • Gain of traceability: the automated reports generated by the operators are immediately accessible.

CASE N°3 | PSA GROUP: QUALITY CONTROLS

On a wheel arch made available by PSA, visitors could observe a case of quality control of EWP (electric welding points).

THE CASE : equipped with Microsoft Hololens, the operators visualize the EWP (electric welding points) to control,

validate the control, then transfer a report of the control results directly in the IS.

THE ADVANTAGES

  • Varied controls: appearance, absence / presence, ...
  • Instruction Sheets from the Dassault Systèmes PLM
  • Ergonomic and intuitive interactions

THE RESULTS

  • Acceleration of the rise in skills (Learning by Doing)
  • Optimization of control time by the immediate identification
  • Reduction of the risk of error by eliminating the complexity of comparing to paper imaging
  • Improvement of traceability: control reports immediately transmissible

CASE N°4 | SAFRAN ELECTRICAL & POWER: INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE

A SAFRAN ELECTRICAL & POWER aircraft cabin model was used to illustrate the use of Augmented Reality to accelerate the detection of faults and reduce the downtime of aircraft on the ground.

THE CASE : equipped with tablets, the inspectors quickly detect faults and are guided step by step in diagnoses.

THE RESULTS

 Productivity gain

  • Preparatory phase (disassembly, identification ...) removed
  • Inspection time reduced from 2 days to 3 hours
  • Downtime of the aircraft minimized

Quality gain

  • Guided diagnosis of possible or proven faults
  • Triggering of the proper operations

 Increased traceability

  •  Inspection reports automatically created and saved.

CASE N°5 | SAFRAN HELICOPTER ENGINES: MARKETING

On a model of the ARRANO helicopter engine, visitors discovered how Safran Helicopter Engines offers its customers and prospects a unique experience with Augmented Reality.

THE CASE: equipped with Microsoft Hololens glasses, prospects and customers visualize the operation and the characteristics of the system.

THE RESULTS

 Customer experience

  • Fun and interactive product discovery
  • Sales relationship facilitated by the conviviality of the moment

 Effectiveness of the sale

  • Intuitive understanding of the product's advantages
  • Purchase decision favored by the AR scenario

 Brand image

  • Use of a modern and performing sales tool
